Clearance and rubbish removal in Woodside
Woodside sits between Addiscombe and South Norwood, about 2.9 miles and sixteen minutes from our base, with Portland Road as the main road through.
The housing is largely Victorian terraces or more recent developments of small flats, and those are different jobs: a terrace means a narrow frontage, old stairs and on-street parking; a modern flat means a shared entrance, possibly a lift, and allocated bays.
Telling us which you have, and the floor, is worth more to the quote than the room count.
The old station site is now the Woodside tram stop, with Blackhorse Lane nearby and Norwood Junction the closest rail link; Woodside Green, the triangular green with its plane trees, is the landmark when an address is hard to describe.
The nearest council tip is Factory Lane Reuse and Recycling Centre back towards the town centre — fine with a car, not for a terrace clearance without one.
Terrace and flat clearances, end-of-tenancy clear-outs, bulky furniture collection and small garden clearances are most of what we do in Woodside.

Local knowledge
What makes a Woodside clearance different
Woodside sits between Addiscombe and South Norwood. The name goes back to 1332 and is thought to mark its position beside the Great North Wood.
The housing is largely Victorian terraces or more recent developments of small flats, and those two are quite different jobs. A Victorian terrace means a narrow frontage, stairs built before modern furniture and on-street parking; a modern flat means a shared entrance, possibly a lift, and allocated bays. Telling us which you have, and the floor, is worth more to the quote than the room count.
The area was agricultural until the heavy clay soil supported brick-making from the 1850s, and Croydon Racecourse opened in 1866, prompting a station in 1871. That station closed in 1997 and its site is now a tram stop; Woodside and Blackhorse Lane both serve the area, with Norwood Junction the nearest rail connection.
Woodside Green is a 4.75-acre triangular green, granted to the local Board of Health in 1871 to be kept forever as open space, with mature plane trees and a war memorial. Portland Road is the main distributor road through the area and the busiest point for loading.

What happens to the waste after a clearance in Woodside
At 2.9 miles and roughly 16 minutes from our base, the onward route is worked out before the van is loaded rather than after. Anything still usable is kept separate as we go, and only what is genuinely finished with goes to a household recycling centre.
